Immigration's global complexity requires a dedicated human rights advocate in this role to transform U.S. farm labor standards.
As Association, Lead, you'll build an organization ensuring dignified farmworker treatment while guiding businesses through responsible recruitment. Your impact will span supply chain sustainability, ethical practices, and collaboration between industry leaders and policymakers.
Your leadership will establish the association as the benchmark for fair labor practices, creating lasting improvements for farmworkers while transforming an essential industry.
Can you see yourself leading a national effort to bring businesses, policymakers, and industry leaders together to set a new standard for farm labor practices?
Are you ready to take on the challenge of growing and sustaining a trade association that will transform the way farm labor is recruited and managed in the U.S.?
Do you believe that fair labor practices are essential to a sustainable and ethical food supply?
Are you motivated to improve working conditions for farmworkers and strengthen responsible recruitment practices?
Do you have experience working with farm labor contractors (FLCs), FLC associations, and recruitment in the U.S. fresh produce sector?
Are you well-versed in labor laws, the H-2A program, and the challenges workers face in agricultural supply chains?
This position welcomes professionals from legal, advocacy, policy, labor, sales and marketing backgrounds. Revenue generation through certifications, sponsorships, grants, and training is crucial.
The role is part-time and home-based, requiring disciplined leadership to build partnerships through effective communication. Travel is limited but necessary for key events and meetings.
Can you see the need, sell the vision for the solution, and grow US membership?
Our client is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization offering companies practical training, helpful resources, business services, and collaborative programs specializing in responsible recruitment and ensuring fair work.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This role focuses on expanding the client's presence in U.S. agricultural labor. The sector faces challenges from potential immigration policy changes that could reduce undocumented workers, leading to labor shortages and higher costs. With declining domestic labor participation, the industry increasingly relies on H-2A workers, emphasizing the need for an efficient guest worker program to maintain agricultural stability.
Rising H-2A worker demand has increased risks of labor violations, including unsafe conditions, wage theft, and human trafficking. Our client addresses these challenges through a new trade association focused on professionalizing U.S. agricultural labor. Drawing on 10+ years of international experience, they help businesses implement and showcase best practices that exceed industry standards.
