Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Are you highly engaged as an accounting or finance professional with a track record of success?
Are you currently a Senior Accountant/Controller/CFO looking for something new, maybe somewhere new?
Are you ready to tackle the strategic challenge of helping a multi-layered, agribusiness company build upon an already impressive legacy?
If your career arc is to be a C-Level leader, this could be the role that gets you there!
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client is a Nevada based, family-owned agribusiness with roots in the ranching community dating back to the mid 1800’s. Today they manage a 5,000 head cattle operation alongside vegetable farming and packing, in addition to hospitality and sanitation divisions. We are recruiting a CFO to work in lockstep with ownership to handle design processes, manage multiple businesses, create succession planning strategies, and develop controls and procedures to generate accurate financial information in a timely manner. A partner to be rewarded nicely for helping guide them through the next chapter.
We are in search of a financial professional who can strategically advise, structure, and execute the financial plans of our client’s overall business. A preferred candidate will come from an agriculture, dairy, or cattle background, but that’s not necessarily required. As long as you have the right skills in finance, banking, bookkeeping, accounting, tax, in perhaps a similar type of business, this role might still be a fit. The right combination of abilities and personhood is key.
As CFO, you will work alongside leadership to judiciously plan and execute the fiduciary activities of the overall business(es). An important upside of this role is the C-Level trust, communication, and latitude to co-creatively improve a thriving agribusiness, develop a succession plan, and ultimately prepare an exit strategy.
This will be a 4-10 year run, through full transition and the sale of the business, with appropriate rewards along the way. We’re looking for someone with an owner's mentality, coupled with the accounting, tax and strategic guidance skills to take the company through this key time frame in their history.
Would you be open to moving to Nevada if you’re not in the “Silver State” today? Relocation and housing assistance is available for those interested in making a move to the Northern Sierra with the main office location being a sustainable and modern cattle and vegetable farm about an hour from Reno and Carson City.
Even if you are not open to relocation full-time, please do consider this role as it is possible for a hybrid schedule, given the right background and capabilities. It’s most important to find the right fit from a technical and cultural standpoint.
