Vice President of Sales - Mainland US
Are you a savvy business development officer with a background in frozen foods?
Do you lead successful sales teams?
Do you feel you could build a successful sales team if given the opportunity?
Our client is a family-owned, integrated retail food service provider focused on delivering value to the food supply chain throughout the Western Hemisphere. Established more than 80 years ago as a paper goods distribution company, its core businesses are the sales, marketing, and logistical management of consumer packaged goods. Our client provides an industry-leading portfolio of goods and services that its partners have come to rely on. The company's goal is clear: provide value-add solutions throughout the international food supply chain.
We are seeking an experienced VP of Sales with a background in corporate sales and customer development within the grocery channel, specifically frozen food. This is a key strategic position for the company– responsible for expanding market penetration throughout the US, as well as retaining and developing relationships within the existing book of business. This role is also a leadership position tasked with managing, mentoring, and growing a successful sales team. Does that sound interesting?
Are you successful selling frozen foods to top supermarket chains across the country? If so, this senior-level sales and leadership position for an established international brand, with a competitive mindset and outstanding products, could be a great next step.
This role calls for a leader who can generate sales, manage customers, and mentor a team. First and foremost, the key success activity of this role is the continued sale and market expansion of products throughout the mainland US–primarily their suite of frozen foods.
A sought-after candidate will:
have successful business connections and direct contacts within the grocery channel
be equal parts good listener and skilled negotiator
have successfully led teams of direct reports
be able to travel at least 50%
A successful Vice President believes in the brand, sets appointments, and pitches products. If you have the experience described above with success presenting, structuring, and selling frozen food to supermarket chains, this position will provide you with an important forward-facing sales and advisory function for a minority-owned company with award-winning products.
Is leading and growing a team of sharp professionals a proven passion of yours? If so, our client would be interested in learning more about you. Mentoring a team of business protegees to help cover new sales territories will only better serve to facilitate the company's growth–and your own growth as well. Producing business relationships across the US is the primary goal for this position, but leading a team is tantamount to that plan.
Ultimately, this role is a fast-paced, do-it-all leadership position with a mandate of adding new customers and building a team.
